”…confirm God’s invitation to you, his choice of you.  Don’t put if off; do it now.  Do this, and you’ll have your life on a firm footing…” [2 Peter 1:10 – The Message]

It’s not enough just to add or increase activity—just to ‘do something’—what is done externally has an internal implication.  Listen to how the external acts reveal the internal impact—how what you do reveals who you are. Peter was a fine one for action but he also learned something else—listen to his words from the Message.

Faith doesn’t waste time—“So don’t lose a minute…” Faith is always aware of the eternality of the time we are given and the way we use it.  Paul said, “redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”  [Ephesians 5:16]

Faith builds—“…building on what you’ve been given, complimenting your basic faith…”  While man can only ‘add to’ God takes and multiplies the action by supernatural empowerment.

Faith in-action grows a different kind of person.  This loud mouth, risk taking, water walking, broken disciple of Christ learned— ”…good character, spiritual understanding, alert discipline, passionate patience, reverent wonder, warm friendliness, and generous love, each dimension fitting into and developing the others. With these qualities active and growing in your lives, no grass will grow under your feet, no day will pass without its reward as you mature in your experience of our Master Jesus…”

Let us be like Peter—full of faith living by faith on a firm footing!
