“Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you.  In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk. Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong.”   Acts 3:6

It is strange how subtle the work of the enemy can be, slinking along the lines of brotherly kindness that actually ends in bondage, slowly bit by bit stealing another person’s life by breaking the boundaries, creeping into their space and handing out temporary sustenance with no eternal value.

There’s a picture painted for us by these apostles, a back drop by which they were assured their words came with power—they were fervent in prayer    The foundation and focus of ministry life is prayer that provides the resources and the confidence that wherever we find ourselves, we are among those that “carry” the life of Christ into the market places of the world.  It is a God consciousness without which faith cannot survive.  From the moment of resurrection, the disciples were aware they were continuing the ministry of Jesus Christ with a goal and purpose to fulfill the ultimate destiny of Christ.

They used their faith to communicate, knowing the power of words releases the power of life or death. When we operate in the faith of God, our Words have the power of God—the same power that created all things and holds all things together.

Peter didn’t just speak; he reached out and touched.  To lose the “hands on” personal touch is to disconnect the fullness of necessary power.  It decreases the ability to communicate with compassion and erodes the faith factor.  Technology may communicate the miracle of God’s presence, but we must not let technology overtake the personal touch.
