Set our mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” [Colossians 3:2-3]

Yesterday’s message was titled, “You don’t know what you don’t know”.   This morning we begin with the understanding that we can know, but it can only happen through the lens of ‘who we know’.

Fulfilling the destiny of life written and purposed by God requires passion.  Christ revealed His passion when He fulfilled the Father’s will; we can do no less.  Being without passion is sure evidence that relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ is drying up.  Without passion there can be no life and no power to complete the assignments of our lives.  Passion is better ‘caught’ than taught and its ‘caught’ by spending time with Jesus Christ.

Jeremiah said there was ‘fire in his bones’ [Jeremiah 20:9].  Paul said He was ‘compelled’ to preach the gospel and David said he ‘hungered and thirsted’ after God’s presence.   There’s only one way to fulfill God’s prophetic promises and live-out His purpose for your life and that is with His passion.

After all he had been through and all he had accomplished in writing to the Philippians, Paul was pressing with all his heart to know God [Philippians 3].  That is passion!   Don’t let the world suck you dry of your passion for Jesus – it is through the power of passion you  accomplish His good and pleasing and perfect will for your life.  Jesus said to His disciples… ”Are you still so dull?” [Mark 7:17]  Obviously it is highly possible in the overactive society we live in to become dull.   Don’t get ‘dull’ or dry, you’ll drift away, you may not be lost but the pathway of life will be full of detours and passionless.
