“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him” [Jeremiah 17:7]
The lack of attention in this present generation has caused many people to be labeled ADD, a problem that leads to the lack of sustained ability to focus. Yet the psychologists agree that the ability to focus attention on a task is crucial for the achievement of one’s goals. Without the ability to focus life becomes a series of chasing distractions and a concert of changing acts. This life controlling issue strikes hard at the core of Christianity. Our very life through relationship with Jesus Christ calls for focus. “Looking away from all that will distract to Jesus. Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith giving the first incentive for our belief and is also its Finisher bringing it to maturity and perfection…” [Hebrews 12:2 AMP]
Confidence is found in focusing on who He is. Christ becomes the power of concentration in the born again believer and through that identity receives the confidence necessary for achievement. Walt Disney said, “Somehow I can’t believe that there are any heights that can’t be scaled by a man who knows the secrets of making dreams come true.’ This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four Cs. They are curiosity, confidence, courage, and constancy, and the greatest of all is confidence. When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionably.
The ‘key’ word in what this statement says is ‘BELIEVE’ and when the power of ‘belief’ is founded in God then nothing is impossible…”for with God all things are possible” [Mark 10:27]
Paul said, “If any man be in Christ He is a new creation old thing have passed away” [2 Corinthians 5:17] So what is the secret? “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new” –Socrates
