”…by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil” [Hebrews 5:14b]

Use or lose!  We’ve all heard it but few believe it – the proof is in the pudding.  If you have not used the Word of God by living in loving obedience to the Word of God you will not be able to tell good from evil.  Very obvious in the world today and God says, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil…” [Isaiah 5:20]

To use an old cliché – you can run but you cannot hide – is the result of past choices.  It is a principle of life.  While we pray for mercy for ourselves and for brethren living in immorality we discern the evil and separate from it.  We must be aware – “Personal love for men will make you call immorality a weakness, and holiness a mere aspiration; personal love for the Lord will make you call immorality devilish, and holiness the only thing that can stand in the light of God”  [Oswald Chambers]

If we are to be God bearers in this present world we cannot be in unity with those who live immoral lives.  “For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness?  And what communion has light with darkness?”  [2 Corinthians 6:14b] The nations and the churches of the world are seething in a cesspool of homosexuality – the sin of sodomy causes blindness [ref. Genesis 19:11], therefore we do not expect them to see through man’s reasoning, the evil of their choice – only a Great Light can pierce such darkness.  We can and must show compassion to a lost and dying world, but to settle down in less than loving obedience to God’s Word we lose what we have gained, we too will fall prey to the delusion of this new gospel that is no gospel at all!
