He who keeps his command will experience nothing harmful; and a wise man’s heart discerns both time and judgment” [Ecclesiastes. 8:5]

Life is full of checks and balances and the wise man will always weigh things with integrity.  God has his own ways and means committee for the direction of our lives and at the same time places within us a gift of discernment to weigh things in the balance of righteousness.

It’s that ‘niggle’ that tells you something is not quite up to par, if not checked it becomes  a minor irritation, left unchecked it entangles you until you can no longer discern good from evil.   Wisdom will pay heed to the warning and at the very least, allow time for judgment.  Foolishness will ignore the warning signs and then wonder how they managed to get so tangled up in the maze of confusion.

The writer of Hebrews said, “But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil”.   Responding to spiritual discernment rather than just denying it or thinking evil is good and making it fit your thoughts, will allow you to snip more quickly the spiders web of manipulation.

Allow the shuttle of the Holy Spirit to weave God’s glorious love between the threads of life and discernment will demolish the ploys of the evil one.  The Word will always discern how man is thinking, therefore check with the Word for wisdom and life.  “For the word of God is living and powerful… and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”.  Trust the discernment within and release yourself, it will allow love to flourish and freedom to expect great things.
