Be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” [Romans 12:2]

There comes those moments in life when we must all pray… ”Lord I accept that I do not know what I do not know and that I am at the edge or boundary line of my own way of following you.  Example:  This is not the way I thought life would turn out!   Lord, if this mind-set in me is in the process of developing beyond my understanding, then I accept it, but ask that you give me grace so that I can see in a way that creates harmony not strife or stress.”  Example:  How can a loving God allow such horrendous suffering to His people?

Strife and stress usually come from not understanding the circumstances or situations of our lives.  Even as the new creation in Christ we grip tightly to those things that have been taught us as the way and the only way.  But what if… what if God is moving in a different way than we expected?  What if He is allowing the pressure, not to cause strife or stress, we do that to ourselves, but what if the pressure is the fire of the Hebrew lads… or those that seem to come against you are the lions in the den.  One makes you who you are, burning away the self life.  The other proves who you are, revealing humility.  Becoming a living sacrifice is not in man, he has only the choice that simply says, “not my will but thine be done”.  Even Jesus Christ had only to make the choice; the rest was in the hands of His Father.

Could it be that the love of God like Himself is a consuming fire, a fire that reveals not just the new man but ultimately the new heaven and new earth?
