If he is able to fight with me and kill me, then we will be your servants.  But if I prevail against him and kill him, then you shall be our servants and serve us” [1 Samuel 17:9]

I was reading the story of David and Goliath recently and realized once again, the heart of the lesson is; who or what was trying to take me captive.  What problem of life, if given the chance, would make me serve it?   We all have problems or trials, but according to this scripture today the secret to overcoming is answering the question and making the choice, “who is overcoming or mastering whom”?

Suddenly I heard the Spirit say, “Diane what good and positive things have come out of your present trial”?

I immediately stopped my reading took pen and paper in hand and began to list all the positive things that have grown out of my present trail.   Wow!  What a list and what a God!  The reality of God’s Word, “All things work together for the good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” was blazingly revealed.  You see the problem isn’t something coming against me, but the enemy coming against Christ in me, this is what David understood.  He was just a kid, but He served a great and mighty God!  He knew God was victorious, that he had been called by God and He would make him to be more than a conqueror.

The old saying when life hands you a lemon – make lemonade is the world’s vernacular.  In kingdom terms, when life hands you a lemon hand it to God and watch the Spirit use it to make the sweetest lemonade you have ever experienced!
