“But when the time had fully come, God sent his son, born of a woman, born under law,  to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons” [Galatians 5:4-5]

It is finished cried Jesus from the Cross – as the earth echoed back the angels ‘amen’.  He completed the chorus sung by the angels at His birth.  His earlier words – not my will, but thine be done had surely been spoken as His Holy Son.

Amidst all the holly and the mistletoe, the torn wrappings from anxious little hands, the infectious glee of wishes fulfilled – remember this…

T’was the age before Christmas, When all through the Earth, God’s people awaited Messiah’s birth, Simeon waited…though his eyes grew dim, To see the one who would save from sin.

What rejoicing, as our souls now behold, What wise men of ages had early foretold.

All creatures, their breath held fast in delight, By the fullness of time manifest that Night!

The angelic host proclaim with great joy! The birth of our savior…the birth of a boy!

A manger so simple, so humble and plain, Emmanuel with us the world to regain.

What manner of love is this…that we should be called His children!
