When he was alone with his disciples, he went over everything, sorting out the tangles, untying the knots.”

[Mark 4:34 The Message]

Life is full of circumstances and situations that come uninvited, unplanned and unwanted—we cannot ignore them, disown them or deny they exist.  We can make a choice.  Norman Vincent Peale said,”Worry is a destructive process of occupying the mind with thoughts contrary to God’s love and care “.  Jesus said, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free!” [John 8:32 NIV]

To know is a term of intimacy—intimacy is where God Himself will, sort out the tangles, untie the knots and set you free from worry.   Luther, the great reformer described his favorite preacher this way:  I have one preacher I love better than any other; it is my little tame robin, who preaches to me daily.  I put his crumbs upon my windowsill—especially at night.  He hops onto the sill when he wants his supply and takes as much as he desires to satisfy his need.  From thence he always hops to a little tree close by, and lifts up his voice to God, and sings his carol of praise and gratitude, tucks his little head under his wings, and goes fast to sleep, to leave tomorrow to look after itself.”

Three things to remember when life comes at you fast—you cannot ‘fix it’—you must not ‘enable it’, but stay in your place of ‘abiding in Christ’.  Peter said; ”You can throw the whole weight of your anxieties upon him, for you are his personal concern” [1 Peter 15:7 Phillips]

Lift up your voice and sing the song of praise—when you are available to God He will untangle, untie and set you free!
