Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”  [2 Corinthians 5:17]

We have become a nation of thrift stores and yard sales.  We value something when we can get it for a cheaper price.  Nothing wrong with that, but have you ever thought about what you lost?  Buy a new car and try to sell it two days later – the loss is enormous!

When we receive something second hand, something that’s already been used, the lack is often obvious.  It does not have a freshness; it bears the marks of the previous owner.  It is ‘less than’ and cannot ever be called new.

What about this ‘new creation’?  Is it a clean, freshly created, never used before ingredient, one of a kind life?  It should be.  Even God went beyond the ‘old testament’ and created the ‘new testament’.  It is true that the old has hidden within the new, and the new brings revelation to the old.  Regardless, it is a way that is new, fresh, exciting and unlike the old, is created for the individual.  It is neither mass produced nor mass received.

We are created by the life of Christ -the life is in the Blood – that’s the new creation.  In the natural man, the blood is produced within the marrow and bone.  The Word of God nurtures the new creation and its DNA by purifying, protecting and providing new life, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”.   Eat the Word knowing it is the bread of life and your new life will be fresh, renewed every morning and full of joy!
